Our 2024 Annual Appeal is ACTIVE! With an anticipated budget for program expenses of over $350,000 next year, we are depending on our local community for help.

YOU are why we can help our local neighbors in need. YOU have the power to have a human and economic impact. Let's create a ripple of good in the lives of our neighbors, together.

It's 2024, and our community still needs your help -- every day of the year!

We continue to see an increase in need. We are now needing 5 to 6 client appointments per day, Monday through Friday, plus deliveries to our housebound clients, and Saturday appointments.

  • Our 2024 Annual Appeal success will determine the level of food amounts, emergency and designated financial help, number of camperships, and more for 2025 families.
  • We are experiencing NEW families calling for help every week.
  • Due to increases in our food costs, we have exceeded our budgeted amount for 2024.

In addition to providing a year round food pantry to serve needy families, Care and Share also helps our neighbors in many other ways.

  • In March, 2024, we helped 140 families, up from 126 in 2023.
  • Summer 2024, we sent 43 children to summer camp or specialized programs to help support their physical, social, developmental needs. We would like to send 50 next summer.
  • Spring Baskets 2024 provided 86 children with fun bubbles, trinkets and treats, along with a special full dinner for their families.
  • Our Christmas Basket program fed 300 adults and 166 children.
  • Our Christmas Store provided 125 families, 228 adults and 182 children, with gifts.
  • Last year we distributed almost 200 Thanksgiving Baskets.
  • We provided hundreds of winter coats, mittens, hats, scarves, socks to anyone in need.
  • We assisted school nurses with snack food, clothing, and other care items.
  • Our Emergency assistance requests have increased due to higher costs for rent and utilities. Car repairs, insurance, threat of eviction from hotels/rentals, are some of the other unexpected costs we help with. In 2024, we've had many requests for assistance due to increases in rent.
  • We offer designated payment assistance directly to vendors to help ease the stress of rent and utilities.
  • Daycare assistance has been provided to our families.
  • Continuing/Career Education assistance is available
  • Pantry Numbers do not include the clients receiving emergency and designated assistance, holiday baskets, free store items (food/household/coats/books/gifts), backpacks, etc.
  • Numbers do not include daily calls, and additional assistance offered, to our Responder line, Monday through Friday.

We are 100% volunteer run and receive no government funding or assistance from other food network programs.

Can you continue to help answer the calls for assistance from our neighbors in need?

THANK YOU!
